I believe that creativity makes your life better. Often, as adults, we feel like creativity is either for kids or those weirdos calling themselves creatives like artists and writers, but in my eyes, anyone should be creative every now and then, even though you think your not good at it (who said that in the beginning, anyway?). Working creatively (hobby or professionally) is such a great way to find stress relief, to connect with your inner child, to get curious about the world, to connect with nature, your heritage, your culture – any culture –, and just be playful.
However, before we start to get creative, we have to not only face a blank page (again and again), but also the abstract concept of inspiration. Sometimes, even we professional artist and writers don’t feel it. It’s just absent. So what to do and how to find it? As someone who wants to pursue more creative hobbies and as a professional (I’ve also written about artist’s block by the way)?
Well, that’s why I’ve started this blog post series called “Bringing creativity into your life”, where I share about where I find inspiration. This is the intro post and I will link all current, existing blog posts below as an overview and a place to start. You could even save this blog post as a favourite, to come back to it when you need it.
Additional tips to make it easier
Just do sketches in the beginning. It takes the pressure off to perform.
Work with “cheep” (but still good, otherwise it’s not fun) supplies, so you don’t feel like wasting precious materials.
Start with what you have: an old journal, the laptop and writing program you have, even if it’s old, pencils and colours from the school years (though invest in nice brushes, it’ll make such a big difference, trust me).
Watch youtube, instead of buying the expensive course straight away (unless you want that commitment).
Find peers who want to join you. Being creative together and sharing your process is much more fun than doing it alone.

Part 1: Finding Inspiration in Flowers
Intro: As creatives, it doesn’t even have to be such a serious thing as creative block, blank page anxiety or blank canvas anxiety, if you are a painter. Sometimes, we just lack inspiration. When this happens to me, I usually feel a little bit of tension inside, my mind won’t relax, and everything seems either too boring or too difficult. One of the things that helps me to gather inspiration and get back to writing or painting, are flowers. So below, I’m answering a few questions on how I find inspiration in flowers and share prompts for you.
