Vivid Tranquility Collection

For forestlovers and oceandreamers

Let's imagine ...

The salty air on a beach walk.

The buzzing liveliness on a forest glade.

The bright sun on a stony shore.

Deep silence, immerged in green.

Can you see it?

Vivid Tranquility is a collection of landscape paintings exploring calm and peaceful sceneries with lively colours.

This collection was build step by step, while I explored painting with oils for the first time in my life. Painting with oils was always a dream of mine, which I leaned into in the beginning of this year and fell instandly in love. As I admire the sea as much as I love forests, I chose sceneries from past holidays spent on Jersy, Channel Islands and at the Swedish West Coast, to explore this new medium and express my two most beloved places.

It’s also been winter and very gray and raining. Choosing bright, vivid colours felt like adding an extra dose of happiness and light to cloudy days. They also matched my memories of these special moments captured in the landscape paintings. Once I had salt on my lips and camera during a beach walk. Then I got a sunburn from jupping over stones on a cristal clear day. I can still smell the spicy air on the warm forest glade or feel the coolness and deep silence rising from the green waters.

Now, as I release these paintings from my studio into the world, it’s my hope that you find your own memories and wonders in them. That they bring you calmness and ease, as well as brightness on cloudy days. That they make your heart happy, following your dreams – in real life or just wandering in your mind.

When I'm at the sea, I dream of forests. When I'm in a forest, I crave the sea.

Collection Details:

Nature and sustainability are highly important to me, so I’m trying to incorporate an eco-friendly approach to my art practice as much as possible. I’m still growing and learning, so every time I make art I try to improve and become the artist I aspire to be.

Inspiration:

Looking at old photographs from past moments on holidays, discovering a love for purple and pinkish hues, craving beach walks, waiting for spring making the world green again, memories, stones and shells found along the way, flowers, silent moments, deep colours, light earth tones, sun on my skin, photography.

Process:

As I’ve been only discovering the world of oil painting, I decided to compromise between most sustainable and most accessible for an oil painting beginner, as I didn’t know if I would enjoy it.

Paint: I used the Winsor & Newton Artisan watersoluble oil paint, as it creates no fumes, my art studio is in my living room and my skin and respiratory system are very sensitive.

Canvas: The canvases are stretched on pinewood with linen canvas, as linen is more sustainable then cotton.

Brushes: I’ve only used synthetic brushes to reduce animal cruelty.

Varnish: Natural Earth Paint’s Natural Varnish – eco-friendly, non-toxic, biodegradable.

Frames: Made of basswood.
